My performance...?

Hmmmm interesting question... How would I rate myself in the PKEY 3102 class...? Well I would look at it in two different ways.... First of all from the technology aspect and then on my behaviour aspect... technology .... I think I have learnt a LOT. I have always liked technology. I'm amazed if I encounter something new... I remember watching this Malaysian cartoon... Its like Malaysian Power Ranges but they, the 5 boys had something to do with Hang Tauh, Hang Jebat, Hang Lekir, Hang Lekur and Hang Kasturi. The cartoon was set in a time where technology was at its best in Malaysia...in the future.... I was amazed with the cartoon. It really caught my attention as the technology presented in the cartoon was amazing. These heroes would save Malaysia using high - tech stuffs. Interesting...? well back to the class... I feel that I have learnt from the class. Our Pkey yahoo group has shown me that learning 24/7 is possible. We can easily share information with each other. The Smartbor...

seedwiki...headache...?

Today’s PKEY 3101 class was different. We started of with questionnaires given by Ms Lim and Sarah. Well I got he chance to answer Ms. Lim’s one’s. I guess the part on Seedwiki got a lot of negative comments. Hehehe Well, I find Seedwiki quite difficult. However, in today’s class seeing the way how Ms. Lim gets excited with Seedwiki makes me question on how far have I gone in order to have a better understanding of Seedwiki. I guess I gave up and started to complain when I encountered difficulties. Seeing her make me realise that if I want to learn anything it is possible if I make the attempt to do something rather than just sit back and grumble. So this is my lesson of the day – don’t GIVE UP. During today’s short discussion session with Prof. I realise that I have a lot to do. Even though my group and I have collected materials, we now have to read, understand and produce our part of the assignment. The real work begins now… Life as a university student is getting hectic. H mmm t...

5 Ps

When I was in Maktab I could imagine myself being a teacher, but once in UM the thought was losing its magic. I guess with the hustle and bustle of a University student, I just lost touch. But, today’s class had re – strengthen my thought. Seeing the pictures and hearing to their situation made me want to be a teacher. I want to help these pupils. I want to show them that learning is fun. I want them to enjoy their primary years with the magic of books and technology. What I have learnt in these four years of training is something that I want to share. Plus I want the adventure of the Sarawak has to offer. Hehehe. Actually I don’t mind going to school on boats and shaking bridges. It will be a new experience for me. I have spent most of my life near home; I guess there is no harm for a little bird like me to move out of her cosy nest. Prof. had questioned us – Should curriculum drive the technology or should technology drive the curriculum? I think it is best if the curriculum drive th...

betrayed!!!

~I am writing this entry, a week late (sorry for the delay). However, I have written in as if I just finished the class. So please bear with me. Thank you~ Well, this week Prof. is off for another “adventure”…..can’t wait to see what she has got for us when she comes back…. So this week my group mates and I started working on the Seedwiki assignment. Hmmm it is quite irritating actually. We wanted to look at the other groups’ work so that we could see how they went about handling this assignment. However, due to the problem we could not do so. As a group we then decided that we should look for articles or any other related materials that are linked to our part of the assignment. Thus, like a knight I took the challenge to fight my way through the enormous Internet. There were so many site that I encounter in my journey. Some were useful and some were not. After some time of searching I thought I need a break. I felt that it was time I rearrange my thumb drive. To my horror, I had so ma...

MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE

In a classroom, I think, I can say that a teacher will struggle with finding ways to reach to individual learning styles and needs. Each of the pupils will have their own learning styles and needs. So how does a teacher do so? One of the ways is to understand what Multiple Intelligences are. This might help a teacher to have better understanding of the pupils’ needs and will be able to accommodate for the differences. While searching for more information on Multiple Intelligences, I come across this article - “Multiple Intelligences in the Classroom” by Nolen, Jennifer L. ( http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3673/is_200310/ai_n9332061 ) I found it very useful, thus I have summaries its content below: Howard Gardner has identified 8 multiple intelligences: Linguistic or verbal This involves the mastery of language. These pupils have highly developed hearing skills. They tend to be great at explaining. Teachera could give more exposure to reading and writing. Have story telling sect...
